In this 7-day Uganda tour, you will need a long checklist to tick off all the wildlife and game you will encounter. From the savannahs of Queen Elizabeth Park and the mountain gorillas in the impenetrable rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, to the elusive and playful chimpanzees of Kibale Forest, this tour includes treks, game drives, and cultural excursions like meeting the historical Batwa Pygmies in Bwindi Forest. It is a wildlife nirvana, and a reason Uganda is called the Pearl of Africa.
Welcome to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. Your driver/guide will pick you up from your morning flight or hotel at 8 am. The guide will introduce himself and provide a thorough briefing of your tour.
Travel from Entebbe to Kibale National Forest, a 6-7 hour drive through farmlands, savannahs, and forests. Lunch will be at Mubende Township. After lunch, continue for a final 3-hour drive to your accommodation. Enjoy the sunset over Kibale Rainforest. Dinner and overnight at your accommodation.
After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a briefing and proceed with chimpanzee tracking. This can take up to 4 hours. Along the way, you might see other primates such as grey-cheeked Mangabeys, colobus monkeys, baboons, and various mammals like forest elephants and giant forest hogs.
Enjoy a picnic lunch after tracking, then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Overnight at a lodge with views of the park's savannah landscape.
Wake up early for a game drive starting at 6:30 am. Explore the Kasenyi Plains, known for lions and Uganda Kobs. The park is home to 95 mammal species including elephants, waterbucks, and leopards.
Return for lunch, then enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a 40 km long stream linking Lake George and Lake Edward. The channel is teeming with hippos, buffaloes, water birds, crocodiles, and other wildlife.
Return to your lodge after the cruise.
After breakfast, head south to the Ishasha Sector. Enjoy a game drive en route, with a picnic lunch along the way. Look out for hyenas, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, leopards, and elephants.
Arrive in Ishasha, check in to your accommodation, and enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, enjoy a game drive in the Ishasha Sector, known for tree-climbing lions. Although spotting these lions can be challenging, we guarantee the experience with park tracking and expert guidance. Ishasha also has a notable population of Topis and various wildlife along the Ishasha River.
Have lunch at the lodge before transferring to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, around 150 km away. Dinner and overnight stay at your chosen lodge in Buhoma or Ruhija regions.
After breakfast and a briefing from UWA officials, set off for gorilla trekking. This once-in-a-lifetime experience involves searching for the endangered mountain gorillas in the dense forest. The trek can take between 2-7 hours.
Post-trek, relax and have lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, meet the Batwa Pygmies, the original inhabitants of the forest. This cultural tour showcases their traditional skills, craftsmanship, and performances.
Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive from Bwindi to Kampala, passing Kabale and Mbarara towns. Lunch will be at Igongo Country Hotel, 12 km past Mbarara. Another stop will be made at the Equator Monument before reaching Kampala in the evening.
